Reconciles

AutoRek alternative and AutoRek competitors for payments and finance teams

Reconciles is an AutoRek alternative for US payments, fintech and corporate finance teams whose reconciliation work is bank lines, processor payouts and invoice payments rather than securities, client money or insurance bordereaux. AutoRek does not publish prices and quotes each deployment by users, modules, data volume and implementation. Reconciles publishes plans from $888 a year, charges no implementation fee and shows matched pairs from your own files before you create an account.

Where AutoRek fits and where it does not

AutoRek is a Glasgow-based reconciliation and financial controls platform with more than 30 years in the market, over 100 clients in 15 countries and about 170 staff. Its site organizes the product by industry: asset management and capital markets (securities, cash and CASS reconciliation), banking (loan, payment and RTP reconciliations), insurance (remittance, reinsurer, MGA and bordereaux reporting) and payments (processing, clearing and settlement, safeguarding, scheme and network fees). In August 2026 it bought Grath, a London reconciliation company, which added a multi-tenant SaaS edition next to AutoRek's private cloud.

That is a strong fit for a regulated firm that has to prove client money is segregated, or an insurer reconciling broker remittances against bordereaux. It is a heavy purchase when the real problem is that Stripe and Adyen payouts land net of fees, customers pay several invoices with one ACH, and the operating account will not tie to NetSuite until day four of the close. That is a matching job, and matching is the only job Reconciles does.

If most of your monthly volume sits in the first three rows, the decision is mostly about price and setup time. If the bottom four rows are your audit risk, keep a regulated platform for them and judge Reconciles only on the matching work.

Other AutoRek competitors buyers compare

AutoRek's shortlist depends on the data. G2 and Gartner both mix corporate close suites with capital markets platforms, which is why the lists look so different from one site to the next.

Pick the group by your data. Client money, trades and bordereaux belong with AutoRek and the capital markets vendors. Bank statements, payouts, invoices and ledger exports belong with corporate tools.

What changes when matching moves to Reconciles

Matches before rules

You upload a bank statement and a ledger, payout or invoice file. The engine pairs one to one, one to many and many to one first, and you save the rules that worked afterward instead of writing a specification for a configuration project.

Payouts split into fees and refunds

Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, Shopify and Amazon settle net. Reconciles splits each payout into charges, refunds, chargebacks and fees, ties it to the bank deposit and books the fees, see payment reconciliation software.

A reason on every pair

Every match shows why it was made, such as amount and date within two days, reference found in the memo, or three invoices summing to one deposit. Reviewers approve pairs instead of re-checking them.

Exceptions in one sorted queue

Unmatched lines land in one queue sorted by amount and age, with comments, owners and an XLSX or PDF report for the close file.

How to test an AutoRek alternative before your demo

1. Export one month of bank lines for your main operating account as CSV or XLSX.

2. Export the matching ledger, processor payout or open invoice file for the same month.

3. Upload both and read the match rate, the exceptions and the reason on each pair.

4. Count how many of your remaining exceptions are client money, securities or insurance items. That number tells you whether you still need an enterprise platform.

When AutoRek is the better fit

  • You run CASS client money or safeguarding reconciliations and need built-in regulatory rulebooks.
  • You reconcile securities, cash and positions across custodians and prime brokers.
  • You are an insurer, MGA or broker reconciling remittances against bordereaux.
  • Your volume is in the millions of lines a month and IT wants a private cloud deployment.

When Reconciles is the better fit

  • Your reconciliations are bank to ledger, payouts to deposits and payments to invoices.
  • You match thousands or tens of thousands of lines a month, not millions.
  • You want a published price, a monthly option and no services project.
  • Your ledger is QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite, or any system that exports a file.
